Who are Great Grottos
Great Grottos are the leading Christmas events management company in the UK we have been running Christmas Grottos in shopping centres and garden centres across the UK to an award winning standard since 1998.
We supply staff, ready-wrapped toys and Grotto photography enabling the burden of Grotto management to be taken from the Centre. We are also the largest Grotto management company in the UK and last year we gave presents to over a 1/4million children whilst providing memorable Santa visits.

How much can I expect to get paid?
At Great Grottos we offer an extremely competitive rate of pay to each of our staff! After your application is submitted to our Recruitment Team, they will start to build your very own file focusing on your experience and skills, they will also assess the position that you are applying for and from this information, should you be successful, they will contact you with an offer of employment outlining a rate of pay and explaining some of the fantastic bonuses that you can earn during your employment with Great Grottos.

Lots of our staff return to work for us year after year and we frequently receive great feedback from our clients regarding fantastic team members!
We cannot guarantee a position to every single person that has worked for us in previous years as reselection is based on performance. Will I receive training?
Our staff training is extensive and covers all aspects of managing a Christmas grotto to the highest standard. Depending on your role you will undergo Santa training, Elf training, visit structure, role plays, customer service, photography and till operation. We pass on techniques we have learnt over years of working in grottos.
I’m self employed, Can I work for you?
You sure can! You can work for Great Grottos on either a self employed or PAYE basis.
How long are your contracts?
Typically our contracts last for the entire Christmas period. However the exact duration would depend of the location that you will be working and your availability. We also frequently have opportunities for extra work during the preparation and dismantle of our Christmas grottos.
We hire full-time and part-time grotto staff during the week and the weekends.
You will however be required to wear a full costume. We believe in going above and beyond our customers’ expectations. This includes providing exceptional levels of customer service whilst in character. Our costumes will both assist and enhance this experience and help you to portray the character that you have been chosen to play!
Great Grottos supply your fabulous costume for which you pay a refundable deposit of £30 deducted from the first two week’s pay and refunded at the end of the season.
